Osama probably likes Obama

It’s human nature — if you hear something disturbing over and over, it eventually wears off. Maybe I can help bring some good ol’ fashioned indignation back to the US. You see, one of my favorite observations regarding Bin Laden is that you could take one of his speeches, sign Michael Moore (or any other leftist tool) at the bottom, and you’d never know the difference.

Case in point: the new Bin Laden video calls former Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld the “most violent murderer” of the Iraq war. Gee, where have I heard that before? Maybe in every Digg and Reddit comment pertaining to the Iraq war. Or maybe it was the anti-war protest in downtown SF where our troops are revealed to be the ‘real’ terrorists.

Also in the new bin Laden video: read Chomsky! That’s right, Osama wants to you read up on some America hatin’ from a fellow American. Why listen to some poor goatf*cker in Afghanistani borderlands tell you to hate America when you can learn from an MIT professor! It isn’t the first time that the Osama book-of-the-month club has recommended a virulently anti-American diatribe from a wackademic.

It’s too bad OBL and his al-Queda buddies can’t vote — that is, it’s too bad for the Democrats.

Why don’t Americans like soccer?

An article in the Boise Weekly newspaper grabbed my attention while eating a few weeks ago. The author was pondering why Americans really don’t care for soccer. David Beckham’s trade to the LA Galaxy apparently was the motivation for writing the article in the first place.

The Boise Weekly is a liberal paper by Idaho’s standards; I just knew what I would find if I bothered to read the article.

And I was right. Allegedly, Americans don’t like soccer because we’re incapable of focusing for more than 10-15 seconds — the length of the average (American) football play. We’re just not intelligent enough to understand the subtle nuances of soccer the way that Europeans can. And, if that wasn’t insulting enough, Americans don’t like soccer because we suck at it compared to the rest of the world.

Sadly, this article just reinforced the way I see many lefties — desperate, hapless Euro wannabes. The author doesn’t even take time to analyze non American-bashing reasons why soccer isn’t popular in the US, he just chalks it up to American ignorance. That’s a fail-safe argument when you’re a liberal. Pretty much everything America does sucks when compared to Europe.

So pardon me for getting a little pissed off at this author and anyone who casually bashes American this in favor of European that. It seems that now, more than ever, America-bashing en vogue. It’s disheartening to see people badmouthing this country like they take everything it provides us for granted.

Last time I checked, Western Europe had a pretty lenient immigration policy. How about you ditch this squalid hellhole in favor of European utopia? Not going anywhere? Why am I not surprised?
