Osama probably likes Obama
It’s human nature — if you hear something disturbing over and over, it eventually wears off. Maybe I can help bring some good ol’ fashioned indignation back to the US. You see, one of my favorite observations regarding Bin Laden is that you could take one of his speeches, sign Michael Moore (or any other leftist tool) at the bottom, and you’d never know the difference.
Case in point: the new Bin Laden video calls former Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld the “most violent murderer” of the Iraq war. Gee, where have I heard that before? Maybe in every Digg and Reddit comment pertaining to the Iraq war. Or maybe it was the anti-war protest in downtown SF where our troops are revealed to be the ‘real’ terrorists.
Also in the new bin Laden video: read Chomsky! That’s right, Osama wants to you read up on some America hatin’ from a fellow American. Why listen to some poor goatf*cker in Afghanistani borderlands tell you to hate America when you can learn from an MIT professor! It isn’t the first time that the Osama book-of-the-month club has recommended a virulently anti-American diatribe from a wackademic.
It’s too bad OBL and his al-Queda buddies can’t vote — that is, it’s too bad for the Democrats.
8588 commentsInsane rantings at DailyKos
I normally ignore DailyKos because the “reality-based community” (they honestly refer to themselves as such) is so chock-full of wanna-be communists, “truthers” and other whackos that almost everything written there is over-the-top conspiratory conjecture. Well, they now seem to think that Bush will strike Iran in four days:
We have four days to head off a war with Iran.
Read the whole post here (I didn’t) — they honestly believe on they can stop Bush from starting a war with Iran. It’s nothing but a Quixotic fantasy. When will the media hold DailyKos, the most visited political blog on the internet by a wide margin, accountable for the ridiculous nonsense on that site?
6813 commentsWikipedia name-calling frenzy and the death of objective journalism
Here’s what we know so far:
- Jews are Nazis - al-Jazeera (source)
- (The late) Oriana Fallici is a racist whore - the UN (source)
- Bush is a wanker - the BBC (source)
- Condeleeza Rice is a “concert penis” - The New York Times (source)
- generally adding mean things and removing nice things about prominent liberal figureheads - Fox News (source)
I wanted to do a post about the death of objective reporting, but this here speaks volumes. No longer are reporters unbiased channels of information; nowadays journalists are advocates. Sources like CNN and the BBC and al-Jazeera have a consistently leftist viewpoint, and these edits tend to confirm that. Fox News slants to the right, and their not-so-stealthy Wiki edits demonstrate that as well.
Update:
Here’s a running list of questionable Wikipedia edits and the people behind them. Very interesting.

The Pew Research Center yesterday released a report on Muslims in America. There were a number of positive finds, such as:
- Muslims in America are generally less extreme and more assimilated than their European counterparts
- 71% of Muslim-Americans believe they can succeed with hard work
It wasn’t all sugar and spice, however. The survey uncovered many disturbing trends within the Muslim-American community.
9/11 Attacks
- Only 40% of Muslims in America believe Arabs carried out the attacks of September 11
- Among those Muslim-Americans who identify themselves as highly-religious, only 28% believe Arabs were responsible for the attacks
Views of al-Queda
- 5% of Muslim-Americans have a favorable view of al-Queda
- 7% of Muslim-Americans 30 and under have a favorable view of al-Queda
Suicide Bombing
- For Muslim-Americans over 30, 9% feel that suicide bombing in defense of Islam can be justified
- For Muslim-Americans 30 and under, 26% feel that suicide bombing in defense of Islam can be justified
Non-Muslim Americans should be disturbed that younger and more religious Muslims in the US have more radical views than their elders. Sadly, this means that the percentage of Muslims-America who approve of Islamic terrorist groups and who condone suicide bombing in defense of Islam will be increasing as time marches on.
At the very least, the study validates the suspicions of many non-Muslims Americans. Can CAIR and other pro-Muslim organizations continue to label people like myself “Islamophobes” in light of this study? After all, one fourth is not a small minority — in fact, it’s bordering on mainstream. Why aren’t we talking about this in America?

Rosie shoots her fat mouth off about 9/11
I don’t watch The View, but on occasion Rosie O’Donnell says something so stupid that everyone talks about it for the next few days. A while back, Rosie the blubber-pot said that 9/11 was the first time that “fire melted steel.” She claimed that it was a physical impossibility:
But as any rational person knows, metal becomes more and more susceptible to failure as the fire’s temperature approaches the melting point. In other words, load-bearing steel need not actually melt before falling over. This amazing simple concept is lost on Rosie.
As if that point needed further vindication, a gasoline truck recently crashed on a freeway overpass in the bay area. The resulting fire (from automobile fuel which isn’t even as refined as airliner fuel) was intense enough to cause the failure of the I-580 overpass:

The reinforced concrete (steel rebar inside of concrete) was not tough enough to hold up to this fire. So why won’t the women of The View hold Rosie accountable for her mistake? Here is a woman (sort of) who is suggesting on national television that 9/11 was an inside job, and there’s plenty of ammunition to fight back with, yet no one does?
One of the problems is that the Democratic party is rife with “truthers.” A recent poll showed that 35% of Democrats think Bush knew in advance about the events of September 11. Another 26% are unsure if Bush knew or not. So many of the people who believe in 9/11 conspiracies (and those who say that they “just don’t know”) harbor a fanatical hatred of Bush. So they project this feeling by buying into a conspiracy theory that has almost zero evidence or merit.

How to lose the war on terrorism (at home)
It’s amazing how far from 9/11 we’ve come in this country.
It all starts with the “flying imams” on U.S. Airways:
These passengers observed six imams refuse to sit in their assigned seats, request metal-bearing seatbelt extensions and speak loud condemnations of the United States. After frightened passengers reported this behavior, the imams were removed from the flight. Troublemakers are routinely removed for less. But the “John Does” were sued along with the airline and regulatory authorities.
I think that whoever alerted the airplane crew was only saying what the majority of the passengers on that plane must have been thinking. In the end, although the imams weren’t exactly model American citizens, they certainly weren’t planning to hijack the airplane. Now the passengers and the airline are facing lawsuits (courtesy of CAIR’s lawyers).
A provision for “tipster-immunity” is currently in the works to prevent this from happening again. Because if Americans can potentially be sued for reporting suspicious activity, you can bet they won’t speak up until it’s very nearly too late. The last thing we want when fighting domestic terrorism is an air of fear an apprehension among American citizens.
And here’s the jaw-dropper: Bennie Thompson, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee is expected to strip the tipster-immunity provision out of the transportation-security bill when it comes before conference committee, where he has considerable influence. If Rep. Thompson has his way, tipsters will be eligible for suit in civil court if the accused are not charged with a crime. In other words, if you report suspicious activity and it turns out to be just that and nothing more, you could find yourself in court losing a lot of money. Is that what we want in America?
While I may be currently disgusted with Republicans, here’s yet another example of why Democrats will never get my vote. As chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Thompson therefore represents the entire Democratic party on issues of domestic terrorism. And this is how we want to fight terrorism? By intimidating and silencing good Americans who are frightened about a potential terrorist act? This couldn’t be more backwards. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential terrorist — is this encouraging or what?
Hat-tip to LGF as usual.

11 year-old girl shoots two home intruders
Here’s a story that won’t be reported by the agenda-driven mainstream media:
Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.
It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.
This is simply amazing. An 11 year-old girl staved off a robbery and potential rape because her parents taught her how to use a gun. You can bet that’s how I’ll raise my own kids (gotta learn myself yet, I’m embarrassed to say). Note that you can’t just hide a gun in the house and not educate your kids on the awesome power that firearms provide. Ignorance can be deadly. Fortunately for this Montana family, knowledge was power.

Global warming really starting to heat up
Apparently, Mars is in the middle of a warming period. The average global surface temperature on Mars has risen by 0.5°C since the 1970s. That temperature rise mirrors the Earth’s change as well.
I’m not citing this as evidence that humanity is not at least partly responsible for global warming. But perhaps this should give pause to people like Al Gore who are claiming as scientific fact that our emissions are the primary force behind global warming.
After all, the Earth had a mini ice-age that had a far greater effect on global temperatures than anything in the last 50 years. And the Earth has a long history of warming and cooling, long before Republicans drove SUVs. So relax, enviro-nutjobs — we should work on cleaning the air, but there are bigger problems in this world. Let’s not lose focus.

Gun Control: Another in a Long Line of Liberal Deceptions
I am of the somewhat cynical opinion that the Democratic party has, for the last 30 years or so, built an ideological platform around feel-good but utterly ineffective politics. Programs and issues that leading Democrats champion are, on the outside, full of promise and hope for Americans. Ever since Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society” fiasco, Americans have been hoodwinked into one liberal feel-good farce after another. I still have yet to decide if these liberal politicians themselves buy into the hype, or whether they merely use a gullible American populace to acquire political power.
What issues am I referring to specifically? Obviously FDR and LBJ imbued the false notion that government is the primary solution behind any economic problem, be it personal or national. But today, the shenanigans continue. Minimum wage is an excellent example. Democrats consistently squeeze out votes by campaigning for wake-hikes to the federally-allowed minimum. And it shouldn’t be any surprise that statistics and economic principles take a back seat to ad-hominem attacks and various appeals to emotion. And again, I haven’t figured out if the Democrats who push for higher minimum wages themselves believe they are doing the right thing, or if they do it in spite of their better knowledge knowing full well how popular such a position is.
Well, the VT shootings this past week have brought forward another great liberal lie: gun control. Much to my dismay, after the VT shootings, most Americans were in favor of more gun control laws and also in favor of pro-gun control politicians.
Here is yet another issue where liberals have the majority of Americans agreeing with them, despite a complete absence of evidence which validates the effectiveness of gun control. For starters, Seung-Hui Cho illegally purchased his weapon. So apparently, almost 50% of Americans are in favor of more laws which didn’t work in the first place (America already has over 20,000 gun laws on the books). Honestly, who is surprised that someone who intended to commit mass homicide wasn’t worried about breaking the law to buy a firearm? By definition, criminals do not obey the law. Ironically, gun control advocates expect criminals to abide by gun control laws even though they simultaneously steal, rape and murder. Is that the Webster’s definition of irony?
In Britain, gun crime has been steadily on the rise since a nation-wide gun ban took place in 1997 (See report for 2001, 2003 and 2004). Washington, D.C. (a thorn in the side of gun control proponents) experienced a massive surge in murders and other gun crime after a late-seventies ban on handgun ownership. The always-loony San Fransisco city council recently banned all handguns within SF city limits — I am expecting a steady growth in gun crime over the next decade or so.
In contrast, one can read about the story of Kennesaw, Georgia:
In March 1982, 25 years ago, the small town of Kennesaw – responding to a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Ill. – unanimously passed an ordinance requiring each head of household to own and maintain a gun. Since then, despite dire predictions of “Wild West” showdowns and increased violence and accidents, not a single resident has been involved in a fatal shooting – as a victim, attacker or defender.
The crime rate initially plummeted for several years after the passage of the ordinance, with the 2005 per capita crime rate actually significantly lower than it was in 1981, the year before passage of the law.
Prior to enactment of the law, Kennesaw had a population of just 5,242 but a crime rate significantly higher (4,332 per 100,000) than the national average (3,899 per 100,000). The latest statistics available – for the year 2005 – show the rate at 2,027 per 100,000. Meanwhile, the population has skyrocketed to 28,189.
That town has yet to see a murder in 25 years.
But don’t believe me, let Penn and Teller inform and entertain you.
