Not a Small Problem
There are 1350 mosques in Britain. More than 600 of these are considered “hardline” — the leaders advocate “shedding blood for Allah” and disparage Western values (like free speech and democracy).
Can we all just drop the bullshit? It’s not a small minority. When will we stop ignoring this problem because we don’t want to offend Muslims?

One-fourth is not a small minority
The Pew Research Center yesterday released a report on Muslims in America. There were a number of positive finds, such as:
- Muslims in America are generally less extreme and more assimilated than their European counterparts
- 71% of Muslim-Americans believe they can succeed with hard work
It wasn’t all sugar and spice, however. The survey uncovered many disturbing trends within the Muslim-American community.
9/11 Attacks
- Only 40% of Muslims in America believe Arabs carried out the attacks of September 11
- Among those Muslim-Americans who identify themselves as highly-religious, only 28% believe Arabs were responsible for the attacks
Views of al-Queda
- 5% of Muslim-Americans have a favorable view of al-Queda
- 7% of Muslim-Americans 30 and under have a favorable view of al-Queda
Suicide Bombing
- For Muslim-Americans over 30, 9% feel that suicide bombing in defense of Islam can be justified
- For Muslim-Americans 30 and under, 26% feel that suicide bombing in defense of Islam can be justified
Non-Muslim Americans should be disturbed that younger and more religious Muslims in the US have more radical views than their elders. Sadly, this means that the percentage of Muslims-America who approve of Islamic terrorist groups and who condone suicide bombing in defense of Islam will be increasing as time marches on.
At the very least, the study validates the suspicions of many non-Muslims Americans. Can CAIR and other pro-Muslim organizations continue to label people like myself “Islamophobes” in light of this study? After all, one fourth is not a small minority — in fact, it’s bordering on mainstream. Why aren’t we talking about this in America?

Sigh - Kill all Jews and Americans
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before — a Palestinian lawmaker visiting Sudan implores Allah to lay the smack down on Americans (how cliche) and the Jews (obligatory):
“Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one. Oh Allah, show them a day of darkness. Oh Allah, who sent down His Book, the mover of the clouds, who defeated the enemies of the Prophet defeat the Jews and the Americans, and bring us victory over them.”
Their elected representatives call for the death of America, and we ship boatloads of money to them. In 2005, we gave $200 million to the Palestinians.

American MSM double standard: the chocolate Jesus
Remember back in early 2006 when major news outlets in the US refused to show cartoon images of the Muslim prophet Mohammed? Well, just to literally illustrate their own self-imposed double standard, many news networks are airing and publishing pictures of “chocolate Jesus” - the bizarre creation of Cosmo Cavallaro.
So, to recap: Publishing humiliating images of Jesus - OK, publishing humiliating images of Mohammed - not OK.
Where are all the barking crazies who claimed that bomb-turban Mohammed was hateful now that Jesus is being lampooned?
Note: even a Google news search today for Mohammed cartoons doesn’t yield any of the actual cartoon images. A Google news search for chocolate Jesus yields plenty of pictures.

Aren’t most suicide bombers Muslims?
A school teacher in Britain has been fired because he told students that “most suicide bombers are Muslims.” That truth struck a little too close to home with some Muslims students, who complained, and eventually got Andrew McLuskey sacked.
The school dismissed Mr. McLuskey before he had a chance to reply to the students’ complaints. But I think we can be sure if someone made a similarly denigrating comment about Christianity, he or she would be met with the same type of heavy-handed punishment… yeah, right.

British Muslims talking liberals’ language
When nine Muslims from Birmingham, England were arrested for plotting the kidnap and beheading of a British soldier, what type of behaviour would you expect from the Islamic leaders of the main mosque in that city? If you guessed plenty of seething and whining, you’re right! In this video, several Muslims from the Birmingham Central Mosque lament the “police state” Britain has become (even though British authorities have foolishly agreed to share classified intelligence with Muslim leaders prior to any police action in an unprecedented act of “sensitivity”) and assure us these arrested men are in fact innocent. Notice you will not find any embarrassed Muslims in the video — those ashamed of such a horrendous and barbaric plot to kill a young British soldier to achieve political gains.
You could argue that the media wouldn’t give coverage to the majority Muslims that were distressed at the violence being concocted within their Islamic community. But this is only one of series of busts (liquid bombs, 7/7 bombings, failed 7/21 bombings, etc.) that show just how big of a problem Britain has with Islam.
But notice that the Muslims that do make camera time are speaking the only language that liberals understand: oppression. These poor Muslims are being discriminated against by Tony Blair’s big, bad Scotland Yard. They’re the victims, they understand that, and what’s more, they’re counting on bleeding-heart lefties to understand that too.

“Undercover Mosque” yields complaints of discrimination
Instead of addressing the issues raised in Undercover Mosque, a documentary of shocking teachings and messages within England’s supposedly more moderate mosques, the leader of one of the mosques in question has lashed out at the filmmakers and the public:
The mosques, of course, are in heavy damage-control mode. A press release at the Green Lane mosque website complains that “it is extremely disappointing but not at all surprising that ‘Dispatches’ has chosen to portray Muslims in the worst possible light. ‘Dispatches’ has opted for sensationalism over substance with total disregard for peaceful community relations.” And not only that: “This so-called ‘undercover’ investigation merely panders to age-old anti-Muslim prejudices by employing the time-honoured tradition of cherry picking statements and presenting them in the most inflammatory manner.”
Notice that the press release does not:
- Apologize for the misogynistic and altogether hateful messages that were documented on by Dispatches
- Promise to investigate the matter with the intent of firing imams caught on the documentary
- Explain how messages such as hitting women, or Allah creating women as deficient could be “cherry-picked” and taken out of a more positive context
This is what the list does do:
- Accuse the filmmakers of stirring up anti-Muslim prejudice
- Remind everyone of the good relations between the Greenlane mosque and the community
- Issue a vague condemnation of “terrorism” and “extremism”
This imam refers to the “time-honoured tradition of cherry picking statements.” Well, the imam is resorting to the time-honored tradition of accusing the public of anti-Muslim sentiment instead of examining the issues which are likely to cause anti-Muslim sentiment in the first place. Meanwhile, in America, no one is talking about this documentary, other than a few people in largely conservative circles. It’s pathetic, the level of intelligent dialogue in this country.
Robert Spencer, author of “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam” and a personal hero of mine, has more.

Shocking undercover documentary on Islam in England
Britain has got a serious, serious problem with Islam. This provocative documentary shows how even so-called moderate mosques are rife with Islamic “extremism.” Watch the three-part series right here:
