No self-loathing like lefist self-loathing

Leftists always seem to have a good deal of self-hatred bottled up inside them. Why is that? Case in point:

I know I’m a Jewish lesbian and he’d [Ahmadinejad] probably have me killed. But still, the guy speaks some blunt truths about the Bush Administration that make me swoon…

How could you like a guy who would kill you at the drop of a hat? This is the typical opinion of an anti-Bush lefty who has no concept of what evil actually is. As long as someone is criticizing Bush, they are an ally of the liberal cause.

Reason #234,920 the UN is Useless

Mohamed ElBaradei, he head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, referred to as “the UN’s nuclear watchdog” has once again stated that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons.

Hardly anyone doubts that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapon, despite the fact that President Ahmadinejad denies it. Back in 2005, the same Mohamed ElBaradei announced that his inspectors discovered nuclear blueprints in Tehran:

Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, told diplomats that his inspectors had recently obtained documents from Tehran showing that the Iranians had been given various instructions on processing uranium hexafluoride gas and casting and enriching uranium. These had been obtained via the black market in nuclear technology headed by the disgraced Pakistani scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan.

Iran also recently announced it hit the 3000-centrifuge mark earlier this month.

The rest of the world can only hope the Iranian people themselves fix their government. Clearly the UN isn’t going to do sh*t. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it agian — the UN is functionally useless.

Everyone knows that Iran isn’t going to fire a nuke on Israel. The whole country would be vaporized within hours of launching their nuke. The real danger is that Iran would be able to move weapons-grade uranium to terrorists and other rogue entities. So much for non-proliferation.

Insane rantings at DailyKos

I normally ignore DailyKos because the “reality-based community” (they honestly refer to themselves as such) is so chock-full of wanna-be communists, “truthers” and other whackos that almost everything written there is over-the-top conspiratory conjecture. Well, they now seem to think that Bush will strike Iran in four days:

We have four days to head off a war with Iran.

Read the whole post here (I didn’t) — they honestly believe on they can stop Bush from starting a war with Iran. It’s nothing but a Quixotic fantasy. When will the media hold DailyKos, the most visited political blog on the internet by a wide margin, accountable for the ridiculous nonsense on that site?

Iran will launch summer offensive to force US withdrawal from Iraq

More evidence that Iran’s government has been fighting a proxy war in Iraq:

Iran is secretly forging ties with al-Qaida elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering US Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials say.

“Iran is fighting a proxy war in Iraq and it’s a very dangerous course for them to be following. They are already committing daily acts of war against US and British forces,” a senior US official in Baghdad warned. “They [Iran] are behind a lot of high-profile attacks meant to undermine US will and British will, such as the rocket attacks on Basra palace and the Green Zone [in Baghdad]. The attacks are directed by the Revolutionary Guard who are connected right to the top [of the Iranian government].”

A bad idea

Iran wants France to oversee its nuclear program. Somehow, I am not reassured by the idea of having the French make sure Ahmadinejad doesn’t get nukes. Saddam was able to successfully bribe the French, and Chirac has already stated that he has no problem with a nuclear Iran.

Iran retrofits 40 year-old US fighter all by themselves

Wow, major props to the Iranian government today. It looks like the US and the rest of the world should think twice about striking Iran to disable its nuclear program. Why? The answer is right here:

That, my friends, is the pride of the Iranian Air Force. It’s called the Thunderbolt, or “Saequeh” in Persian. And yes, they built it all by themselves. Ok, that’s almost true; they retrofitted it all by themselves — the plane was actually built by Americans over 25 years ago (silly details, really). It seems Iran hasn’t been gifted anymore airplanes after that whole Islamic Revolution thingy some two decades plus ago. As a result, the Iranian government really knows how to squeeze an extra few thousand kilometers out of their two-generations old fighter technology. Bravo on the paint job boys, it’s looking spiffy!

I wonder how this F-5 clunker from a quarter century ago with newly-installed Iranian seat belts would fare against some top-of-the-line US technology, like this guy:

F-22 in flight

Of course, the Iranian government could always paint a couple cool racing stripes down the side of those old pre-1980 F-5’s, then we’d really be in trouble.

You can’t be serious

Each day that passes provides a reason why the UN is not only functionally useless, but actually a hinderance to world peace. But today’s example makes my blood boil:

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Friday that Syria has pledged to step up border patrols and work with the Lebanese army to stop the flow of weapons to Hezbollah.

That’s right, Koffi Annan is going to rely on the trust-worthy, pro-Israeli Shia government of Syria to stop Hezbollah from being resupplied. Just how stupid does he think the world is? The analogy of a fox guarding the henhouse couldn’t be more applicable.

This is the same Syria that cannot (or refuses to is more likely) patrol its own border with Iraq, and that has resulted in Shia terrorists entering the country and creating chaos. This is the same Syria that is belligerent to the world community, and ideologically aligned with Iran.

I am physically disgusted with the United Nations. Why does the US provide funding for this ridiculous organization which actually helps Islamic terrorism and despots more than anyone else? By the way, August 31 has passed, where are the economic sanctions against Iran for defying the UN? Oh, right…

Ahmadinejad impersonates American Democrats

The president of Iran, according to AFP, says that America is trying to build a global empire. He also states that if America changes its ways, “everything will be resolved”:

According to an AFP report, hardline Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused the United States of harboring imperial ambitions and demanded the administration change its behavior, in an interview with a US television network.

The Americans “want to build an empire,” said Ahmadinejad, according to excerpts of the interview published by the CBS network on its website Wednesday.

“And they don’t want to live side-by-side in peace with other nations. The American government, sir, it is very clear to me they have to change their behavior and everything will be resolved,” said Ahmadinejad.

So, should America reform itself to stop terrorism, as Mr. Ahmadinejad and some Democrats think?
