New mega-mosque to be built in London
A new mosque, dubbed the London Markaz, will likely be built in London’s east end. The mosque will be designed to hold a maximum of 70,000 Muslims. The London Markaz is being bankrolled by Saudi Arabia and the Tablighi Jamaat, a Muslim missionary organization dubbed as “a recruiting ground for al-Qa’eda” by the FBI and “an antechamber for fundamentalism” by French secret services.
Assuming the mosque represents the average British Muslim (which is highly optimistic, given the nerfarious financial founders), I have calculated the following numbers:
- 6300: the number of Muslims inside that would not report to British police another Muslim they suspected of terrorist activity (source)
- 3500: the number of Muslims inside that felt the 7/7 bombings were justified (source)
- 11,200: the number of Muslims who believe that while the 7/7 bombings were wrong, the cause was right (source)
The neighborhood that the mosque will be built in is already 90% Muslim — so much for diversity — and even more Muslims are moving to the Savile Town area of Dewsbury in anticipation of its construction. This reinforces what Abu Izzadeen (video of Abu laughing at 9/11 victims) angrily shouted at British Home Secretary John Reid, that, in effect, Muslims are seeking to build their own communities. Clerics like Abu believe that even the British police should not be able to enter specifically Muslim areas.

British Muslims given special legal status
British police must first present evidence of suspected terrorist activity to a special Muslim-only panel before taking action, according to a new report. The panel will weigh the evidence and determine the strength of the case, as well as the effect on the Muslim community. The article does not specify the actual power held by the panel (can the panel prohibit the police from taking action?) nor does it list the credentials required of the panel members.
In reality, the measure elevates Muslims to a level of special protection not afforded to Britain’s other religious peoples. This is almost certainly the result of the continuing cries of victimhood from the British Muslim community, cries which claim that Muslims are suffering the most, and, as a result, the British government should make special provisions to accomodate their sensitivities. Already, British police officers must undergo extensive sensitivity training before conducting an anti-terrorism raid. When British police broke up the airline plot last August, the arrested men already had prayer rugs awating them in their cells.
Britain’s Muslims have a stronger anti-Westerner outlook than even Pakistan’s Muslims. A new study shows nearly 1 in 10 (9% to be exact) of British Muslims would not report to police another Muslim they suspected of terrorist activity. Among younger Muslims, that number jumps to 15%. Using the 9% statistic, that amounts to 90,000 British Muslims who would “turn a blind eye” to suspected terrorist activity. So pardon me for worrying that a special Muslim panel would have a substantial conflict of interests when it came to giving the nod to British police for an anti-terrorist raid.
Additionally, there is the possibility that the special Muslim-only panel will relay confidential information to the suspected individual or groups. Imagine that your brother or your father was being targeted as a potential terrorist. Would you inform them and give them warning? It suffices to say that, at the very least, a substantial conflict of interest is created within each panel member.
All that aside, since when does the police consult a non-government organization before conducting official business? To my knowlege, when the police recieve a warrant for a search or arrest, that is the green light. Adding the additonal step of consulting a Muslim-only panel wastes precious, precious time. Nearly every anti-terrorism expert I’ve heard from claims that acting quickly is the biggest factor in a successful anti-terrorist sting. This panel only adds to the beaucracy and red tape that the police must hurdle before performing their jobs.
Britain is setting a very scary precedent by allowing a Muslim-only panel of non-officers to review and deliberate on sensitive intelligence information. Britain has already pandered to the Muslim community enough as it is, no group of peoples should receive special treatment in the eyes of the law.

A quick reminder
Al-Queda reminded the Pope today that its goal is to have the whole world under the banner of Islam. Their final goal is not to get Americans out of Iraq, to stop Western influence in the Middle East, or to live in harmony with the rest of the world. Believe it or not, some people forget what Islamic terrorists are really after.

And the killings have begun
I knew it was only a matter of time before Islamic fundamentalists start murdering innocent civilians to demonstrate to the world that they are upset at being labeled as violent and inhuman. An Italian nun was gunned down in Somalia today, a nation that has been overrun with Islamic militants who have imposed strict Sharia law on the areas they control.
I fully expect the violence to increase in the coming months, as clerics and imams around the Muslim world work their followers into a frenzy by rehashing the Pope’s comments over and over. The blood will continue to spill, I guarantee it.

Screwing the pooch, literally
Europe’s moral depravity is reaching new lows:
A new dissertation from the Institute of Criminology at the University of Oslo showed that Norwegian veterinarians know of at least 124 cases of animal sex abuse in Norway. The thesis reports that 22 percent of Norwegian veterinarians suspect or are sure that they have treated animals that have been sexually abused by humans.
I’m not saying that this doesn’t happen in the US, but at least it’s not legal here. Apparently, in Denmark and Norway, there are legal loopholes which allow bestiality, as long as the animal doesn’t suffer. The result: animal bordellos.
Denmark, bestiality, Norway, animal bordello, absolutely disgusting

The world is upside down
The New York Times is criticizing Pope Benedict XVI for calling Islam an inherently violent religion. As a reaction to the Pope’s remarks, many Muslims around the world have started burning papal effigies and attacking churches, in order to ironically express their dissatisfaction with being labeled as violent.
In a better world, the New York Times would express disbelief and disappointment in the fact that so many thin-skinned Muslims can be roused to violence with such little provocation. But instead, the Times criticizes the Pope for predicting exactly what turned out to be the response from many Muslims around the globe. It’s a disconcerting time we live in.
Here’s the transcript of the Pope’s speech.

Stop the presses: I agree with George Clooney
This might never happen again, but for once I agree with George Clooney. Mr. Clooney was in New York recently, imploring the United Nations to take action towards the genocide in Darfur. More than 200,000 people have been killed and over 2.5 million have become refugees, as the Islamic Janjaweed militia carries out jihad against the existing government.
Clooney tried to remind the UN that they allowed a horrific genocide to occur under their watch ten years ago when the Hutus and Tutsis fought in Rwanda:
“The United States has called it genocide,” Clooney told council members. “For you it’s called ethnic cleansing. But make no mistake _ it is the first genocide of the 21st century. And if it continues unchecked it will not be the last.”
In stark words he told the U.N. diplomats: “In many ways it is unfair, but it is nonetheless true that this genocide will be on your watch. How you deal with it will be your legacy, your Rwanda, your Cambodia, your Auschwitz.”
I’m no fan of George Clooney, or other Hollywood elitists who decide every now and then to leave their multi-million dolllar homes in the Hollywood hills to preach to the rest of America. But in this case, he’s absolutely right. The UN was formed with the motto “never again,” yet it has happened again and again while the UN sat idly by. Will they take action this time?

Jihad declared on France
An Islamic organization in Algeria known as Salafist Group for Call and combat, in conjunction with al-Queda, has declared jihad on France.
But France did everything in its power — even took money from Saddam — to stop the war in Iraq from ever happpening, in order to not infuriate its own Muslim population. But it seems to matter little, as the Islamic terrorist groups have invented a pretext (the pathetic French contribution to a UN peace-keeping force in Southern Lebanon) upon which to launch jihad.
Looks like appeasement backfires again, eh Frenchies? Over in America, some of us have realized that we’re going to be hated by some segments of the Islamic world no matter what, and we have to try and do the right thing regardless. Get some balls France.

Fortress America
I and many conservatives frequently malign the Democratic party for having no ideas when it comes to the war on terrorism. Liberals are champing at the bit to tell America what Bush is doing wrong, but they have a precious lack of ideas when it comes to providing alternatives to Bush’s plans.
In that spirit, I caught a clip of Arianna Huffington (of Huffington Post fame) being interviewed on Bill O’Reilly’s show. O’Reilly asked her point-blank what she would do differently in the war on terrorm. She equivocated, and then remarked that we should “redeploy” (read: withdraw) from Iraq. O’Reilly told her that that’s what he’s been reading on every liberal blog and hearing from every liberal politician, he again asked her for just one original idea which deviates from the Bush approach to fighting terrorism. Her response again involved Iraq.
Arianna suggested (and she was serious, watch the clip) that all of America’s forces in Iraq and Afghanistan should be brought home to America to guard our airports and seaports. O’Reilly deemed her plan “Fortress America.”
To me, this remark speaks volumes about the idea vacuum that exists within the Democratic party for fighting terrorism. The list of grievances against Bush’s war against terrorism is long, but when asked for alternatives — nothing. This was a perfect opportunity to shut up Bill O’Reilly and show him that liberals have an alternative, something that is tough on terrorism, yet deviates significantly from the Republican approach. But it wasn’t to be.
Oh, and she also puts her foot in her mouth by saying “so what” to the fact that Saddam persecuted Kurds.

An important difference between Israel and Hezbollah
Israelis don’t intentionally target civilians (in fact, they make every effort not to hit civilians if possible), and Hezbollah does:
The militant Shiite group Hezbollah committed war crimes in its deliberate targeting of civilians in the recent conflict with Israel, according to Amnesty International.
Isn’t it interesting that neither the United Nations nor Human Rights Watch have condemned Hezbollah for intentionally targeting civilians? Yet, they have both condemned Israel.
