More Palestinian Depravity
The Palestinian people continually demonstrate the most deplorable conduct that humanity is capable of.
Wafa Al-Bas, an 21 year-old Arab woman from Gaza, was arrested at a border checkpoint in June 2005. She was wearing a 20-lb. bomb belt which she intended to use at the Be’er Sheva Soroka Hospital. An article in an Israeli newspaper explains:
The failed bomber later told Israeli television that her greatest wish was to kill 30 to 50 Israelis, including children.
It is nothing new that a Palestinian was attempting to bomb Israeli civilians. Sadly, it doesn’t even surprise me that a 21 year-old woman would bomb a hospital — Jihad makes no concessions for non-combatants, even women and children, as numerous terrorist attacks around the globe have clearly demonstrated.
What shocks me is that prior to Wafa’s arrest, she had been treated at the very hospital she intended to massacre. When a gas stove exploded next to her, she was brought to Soroka Hospital where Israeli doctors treated her for “serious burns” on nearly 50% of her body:
The hospital attack would likely have killed or maimed the very Israeli doctor who had saved her life.
Wafa Al-Bas’s mother was furious with her:
The PA TV interview with Al-Bas’ parents, which aired on February 20th, features her mother saying the event was hard for her - not because her daughter was on a suicide mission, but because she was arrested on her way to carry it out.
That’s right, mom’s mad because her daughter didn’t kill Israeli doctors, women and children. Mom’s pissed because Wafa is still alive and not in a billion pieces for Allah’s sake. There’s nothing quite like a mother’s love, is there?
Aren’t you glad we in the United States are helping Palestinians just like these feed and clothe their children? After all, if they don’t properly raise their kids, who are they gonna strap bombs to?

I was very disappointed to hear that the United States will continue sending humanitarian aid to Palestine. This money will go towards feeding, clothing, and supporting a whole new generation of Mariam Farahats.

Our Freedoms, They Are Erodin’
Big Brother was busy in Europe last week, rounding up thought criminals for Room 101.
In Austria, the British historian David Irving was sentenced to three years in prison. Apparently he made a commment, back in 1989, that called into question the existence of the Haulocaust. Mr. Irving pleaded in his defense that he had since (conveniently) changed his mind on the matter — the court was not persuaded.
In Germany, a 61 year-old man will serve a year in prison for putting Mohammed’s mug on some toilet paper and attempting to peddle it to local Mosques. He also referred to the Qu’ran as a “cookbook for terrorists.”
Tony Blair is constantly pushing for tougher laws on criticizing religion, pushing it into the realm of hate speech which is illegal. Australia has also convicted citizens for making derisive remarks towards Islam. Will the US cave in too, and start chipping away at your right to freedom of thought?

So many of my recent posts have been about the Mohammad cartoon controversy, and how the media should not be restricted in their freedom of speech. That being said, I don’t understand the reasoning for this piece in the NY Times. The article is for all intents and purposes a primer for Juba on how to snipe American soldiers. What possible reasoning could the NYT have for publishing this information? CBS news had enough sense to pass up a story about IEDs that a senior military official described as being helpful to the enemy if published.
What do you think the American soldier who has to patrol Baghdad on foot wearing this body armor thinks of the article? Do you think he’s happy that the NYT has so graciously exposed the weak points in his armor? Does that give him more confidence? Sometimes I think the NYT couldn’t be any more transparent in its anti-war agenda.

Free Speech With a “But”
Representatives for the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) met at the University of Pennsylvania to discuss the Mohammed cartoons. At one point, an audience member said:
“People have every right to give an opinion on something, you cross the line when you threaten, intimidate or harass, and that is when free speech is limited.”
CAIR member Mazhar Rishi agreed, and then completely twisted the sentiment:
“The right to free speech is not absolute, it does not give a right to defame Prophet Muhammad or any other [religious figure].”
Funny, I don’t recall CAIR’s opposition to the last 50 years of Christianity-bashing that has become banal in American popular culture. Where was CAIR when Madonna’s music video featuring burning crosses debuted? Where was CAIR when the NEA — a taxpayer-funded organization — provided the endowment for Andres Serrano’s Piss Christ? It’s fairly obvious the emphasis is on not poking fun at their prophet, and less so other religious figures like Christ (apparently revered as a prophet of lesser holiness compared to Mohammad).
CAIR was one of the the first moderate Muslim groups to condemn the cartoon violence that erupted first in Syria and Afghanistan. Often portrayed as a group of “moderates,” CAIR is really just another Islamic organization with bountiful ties to terrorist organizations (Please note that I’m not implying that all Islamic groups have ties to terrorism, just that there are numerous Islamic groups that make a point of stating their opposition to radical Islam or terrorism, but then are found to be in support of such activities). CAIR is heavily funded by the Saudi royal family and is used as a tool of promoting Whahhibism. Three founding members of CAIR have been convicted of supporting Islamic terrorism.
So it’s not surprising to hear a CAIR representative tell us with a straight face that we can have our free speech, except for criticism Mohammad or Islam. Sadly, given the response of the American media (almost all major media outlets chose not to publish the cartoons), it seems that CAIR’s defintion of free speech, the one with the Mohammad clause, is catching on.

The Blood Continues to Spill
Angry Muslims rioting in defense of the Religion of Peace have caused nine deaths in Libya and 15 deaths in Nigeria. Meanwhile, moderate Muslim organizations are missing in action; condemnation and reproach for the violent protests has been quite scarce. Most of the blame is being dumped on the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten and anyone who is taking a stand for the freedom of speech.

Debt Relief Fuels Corruption
Economists know that when you subsidize something, you get more of it. It is almost a universal fact of life that can be observed within a marriage, throughout a country, or even on a global scale. That is why I am hardly surprised to read this report in the Brussels Journal which tells of increased corruption in nations which receive debt relief:
Most serious analysts of the failures of development aid, including a number of government commissions, not only identified corruption in recipient governments as a reason the aid programs failed but, in fact, found the projects actually fueled additional corruption and increased the plight of the people.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The more corrupt a nation becomes, the more empoverished its populace becomes, thus inspiring more aid from the global community. The aid, time and time again, is siphoned off by old corrupt regimes, or the new regimes that promise to “clean house” but then continue the very problem they were suppossed to fix. The Economist has a very good article about the revolving door that is African governments. The process, unfortunately for the African people, repeats itself like a broken record.
I don’t think any nation ever became successful and stable while suckling at the global teat. Just as welfare within the United States subsidizes destructive behaviour, global debt write off is a catalyst for dishonest and greedy governments bent on pampering themselves and not their people. It is difficult for the West to watch Africa languish in misery - but we should accept some of the blame. Africa needs stable governments and open markets, not freebie handouts that are usurped by crooked despots.

Clinton: Convict Cartoon Publishers
Bill Clinton, speaking from Pakistan, called for the EU to convict publishers of the Mohammad cartoon. Clinton remarked that people’s religious convictions should be respected at all costs.
That’s a fairly scathing rebuke of the freedom of the press coming from Mr. Clinton. But, to be fair, Bubba isn’t really talking about all religious convictions, just those of Muslims. So, to clarify his obfuscation, what Clinton actually meant is that freedom of the press extends to anyone not criticizing or deriding Islam.
You would think one of the most liberal president in America’s history would have no problem standing up for the freedom of the press. Yet he capitulates, like so many others, when he realizes that this freedom makes some non-white, non-Christians violently unhappy. So it’s heave-ho with our freedoms to appease the rioting masses.
Clinton might as well have taken the podium and said “I for one welcome our new Muslim overlords.” He’s still not as retarded as Jimmy Carter though.

Iran’s Undeniable Nuclear Weapons Program
I know there are still idiots out there who actually think Iran might or might not be developing nuclear weapons. They think this given the fact that Iran has been caught with blueprints for making nuclear weapons, they refuse to let Russia enrich their uranium for them, they are digging a labrinyth of tunnels across the countryside for storing the warheads, and so forth.
Unfortunately for these naïve folk, there is very little in the way of evidence to show that Iran is not interested in nuclear weapons development. France today issued a report stating that Iran’s nuclear energy program is a cover-up for military weapons research. Well, no kidding?
It’s Europe’s backyard, and if they don’t get their collective asses in gear, they will have to deal with a nuclear Ahmadinejad. I don’t understand why the matter isn’t being dealt with more seriously right now, before it’s too late. There can be no denying Iran’s true intentions any longer!

“Giant Summit” With All Israelis
The Onion reports:
RAMALLAH, WEST BANK—After his militant Islamic party took the majority in Palestine’s recent elections, Ismail Haniyeh called for a “giant summit with all living Israelis” Monday, rekindling international hopes for peace in the war-torn region.
Enlarge ImageHamas Calls For ‘Giant Summit’ With All IsraelisIsmail Haniyeh urges Israeli participation in “bringing closure” to conflict in the Middle East.
Haniyeh characterized the one-day summit as “the final solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute,” and invited every Jewish citizen of the world to attend. Haniyeh said he expects more than 5 million participants from Israel alone.
“It was foolish of us to think that a satisfactory resolution could be reached through small-scale aggression,” Haniyeh said. “It will take more than the sporadic deaths of small groups of Israeli civilians to achieve our ends.”
